EXPERIENCE THE SPIRIT OF A TRADITIONAL DANISH CHRISTMAS
The Danish Christmas Bazaar has become an institution in Singapore and is now in its 35rd year! On the 23th and 24th of November the Danish Seamen’s Church in Singapore is hosting its annual Christmas Bazaar. The beautiful indoor and outdoor surroundings of the old heritage building will be filled with handmade advent wreaths, beautiful Christmas decorations, Danish design items and yummy Christmas delicacies.
Throughout the weekend of November 23 & 24 The Danish Seamen’s Church will be buzzing with activity from the different food and decoration stalls. Christmas carols and a live ukulele band set the ambience for a stroll around the Church premises, where a dedicated group of volunteers display the result of the past weeks’ hard work of making decorations, traditional Christmas cookies and unpacking box after box of Danish Design items and delicacies.
The taste of Danish Christmas
At the bazaar itself we have made sure that you can try the traditional Danish open faced rye sandwiches with different meat and fish and classic toppings. For a sweet ending you can visit the cake stall that serves up homemade brownies, classic Danish “apple donuts” and ris a la mande.
In our deli you can buy everything you need for a real Christmas lunch or Christmas dinner the Danish way – from the curried herring to the cherry sauce to top the classic ris a la mande dessert.
Creative kids play corner
The kids are entertained in our creative play area, where homemade Christmas decorations are created with scrap materials (note: no drop off, parents must supervise). Both Saturday and Sunday we will also have a special guest visiting from the North Pole (Ho, Ho, Ho!) to greet all the nice kids with some special treats. All this can be enjoyed with our kids pass that can be required at the entrance for 15 SGD – incl. a kids meal including a hotdog, a soft drink and a sweet treat.
